Dear Friends,

The SEED Board met on November 4, 2015 and voted to dissolve Sustainable Edible Economic Development, Inc.

SEED has accomplished a lot over the last 6 years. Here is a link to a summary of what we have done with many, many partners.

On behalf of the current and past SEED Board of Directors, we want to thank you for your support, collaboration, and contributions in helping to accomplish the many steps forward in the last six years.

There are two goals of SEED which still need to be addressed:

Creation of a food hub. We think the Farm Fresh Atlas organization and one or two other organizations serving a broader southeast Wisconsin region are best suited to continue working on developing a food hub

Helping new local, healthy producers/farmers get started. We think this goal is well-served by Gateway Technical College’s Urban Farming Certification program and UW Extension.

In particular, I would like to thank our current and past Board of Directors Members:

Waleed Ahmad, Dan Braun, Curzio Caravati, Marco Covelli, Elizabeth Eaton, Therese Fellner, Ray Forgianni, Joey Geometti, Jennifer Jackson, Kara Kading, Barbara Larson, Lynn Lein, Ben Lehner, Lynne Leithleiter, Heather Lux, Patti Nagai, Leigh Presley, Carol Reed, Ted Schuerman, Stephanie Sklba, Rose Skora, and Bill Stone.

I would also like to thank Sharon Schulz, Chief Executive Officer of the Racine/Kenosha Community Action Agency (CAA), their Board, and their staff. The CAA helped SEED get started and has served continuously as our fiscal sponsor.

And personally, I want to thank everyone with whom SEED has worked in the last 6 years. I have met so many wonderful people who are contributing to helping all of us grow and consume healthier food. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with all of you.

Bob Beezat
Board President
